Getting started

Your first Stage demo, in six steps.

From signing up to sharing a live demo: everything you need to know, in the order you'll need it.

  1. 1

    Create your workspace

Sign up for Flaxxa and choose Flaxxa Stage: it's added to your new workspace, ready to use. Already on Flaxxa? Add Stage from your workspace's Apps.

  2. 2

Install the Chrome extension and connect it

Add the Flaxxa Stage extension to Google Chrome, then sign in from its popup: it opens your workspace and connects in one step.

Prefer a token? In Stage, open Settings → Chrome extension auth, choose Issue token, copy it, and paste it into the extension's sign-in.

Get it from the Chrome Web Store

    Tips

    • •A token is shown only once and is valid for 90 days. Issue a new one any time.
  3. 3

    Record your product

Open the web app you want to show, click the Stage icon in Chrome's toolbar and press Record. Use the product as you normally would: every click becomes a scene, and the motion between clicks is kept.

Press Finish when you're done. The demo opens in the Stage editor.

    Tips

    • •Plan the path before you record: one goal per demo, and the fewest clicks that reach it.
    • •Pause for a moment after each click, so the page settles before the next one.
    • •Real data on screen? Turn on Hide everything you type in the extension's settings, and blur the rest later with Retouch.
  4. 4

    Direct each scene

Pick a scene on the left, then use the toolbar: Cue adds a Pointer on what to click, a Tooltip that explains it, or a Title, Media or Form card. Camera zooms in, and Retouch blurs, highlights or adds a note.

Narration writes and voices the scene's script, Music adds a soundtrack under the whole demo, Presenter adds an AI presenter, and Marquee sets the call to action at the end.

    Tips

    • •Let AI write the first draft: turn on Add content with AI when the extension uploads your recording, and every scene gets a title, a tooltip and a narration script.
    • •Group long demos into Acts, so viewers move through them chapter by chapter.
  5. 5

    Preview, then go live

Press Preview to watch the demo as your viewers will. When it's ready, press Go live: the demo gets its link, and every way to share it opens up.

Want to choose who sees it? Protect the demo with a password, or keep it to your workspace.

  6. 6

    Share it, and read Audience

Open Share: Copy demo link for emails and chats, Copy embed code for your website, Export as video for an MP4 (its download link arrives by email), or Handout for a step-by-step guide as PDF, Word or Markdown.

Then open Audience to see views, completion and the scene where people drop off, plus the leads your Form cards collected.

The embed code

Copy embed code gives you a snippet like this one, with your demo's share token in it. Paste it anywhere your site accepts HTML: a landing page, a help-center article or your docs.
