What does a social media scheduler do?

A scheduler holds your posts and sends them for you. Instead of opening Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook at nine o'clock to post the same news three times, you write it once in the scheduler, choose the accounts and the time, and it goes out on its own.

Most schedulers also give you a calendar of what is planned, a queue of regular posting times, and analytics showing how posts did. Many now add an AI writing assistant. Flaxxa Social is one of these tools.

Which accounts can a scheduler post to?

It depends on what each network's API allows, which is why every scheduler has fine print.

  • Instagram allows publishing only to Business and Creator accounts, not personal ones.
  • Facebook allows publishing to Pages you manage, not to personal profiles.
  • LinkedIn allows posting to your own profile and to company Pages you administer.
  • Google Business Profile allows updates to the locations your Google account manages.
  • Some formats, such as Instagram Stories, are not offered by every tool.

What can't a social media scheduler do?

A scheduler saves time, but it doesn't replace being present.

  • It can't reply to comments for you in a human way; that still needs a person.
  • It can only post the formats each network's API allows.
  • It can't make a weak post perform; it only makes sure good posts go out on time.
  • If an account's connection expires, posts to it fail until you reconnect, so health warnings matter.
