How to send bulk WhatsApp messages without getting banned.

To send bulk WhatsApp messages safely, use the official WhatsApp Business API, message only customers who opted in, send Meta-approved templates, target segments rather than your whole list, and pace your sends. Tools that blast messages from a normal WhatsApp account get numbers banned.

Why do WhatsApp numbers get banned for bulk messages?

WhatsApp bans numbers that send large volumes of unwanted messages. The usual causes are tools that automate a normal WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app account, sending to people who never agreed to hear from you, and messages that many recipients block or report as spam.

The WhatsApp Business API is built for messaging at scale, but it has rules too. Meta watches how customers react to your messages and limits or restricts numbers whose messages get blocked.

How do you send bulk WhatsApp messages the right way?

01

Use the official WhatsApp Business API

Send through an approved provider such as Flaxxa, not through tools that automate the WhatsApp app.

02

Collect opt-in

Message only customers who agreed to receive WhatsApp messages from you, for example at checkout or on a sign-up form.

03

Use approved templates

Write your broadcast as a template and get it approved by Meta. Personalise it with the customer's name and details.

04

Send to segments

Pick customers the message is relevant to, rather than everyone, so fewer people block you.

05

Pace your sends

Spread large broadcasts out and send in your customers' waking hours. Flaxxa WAPI paces broadcast sends for you, and you can schedule a broadcast for the time you choose.

03 / 04

What is the WhatsApp quality rating?

Meta gives every business number a quality rating based on how customers respond to its messages. When many people block or report your messages, the rating drops, and Meta can lower how many customers that number may message in a day or restrict it.

Meta also sets a daily limit on how many customers a number can start conversations with. The limit grows as you keep sending messages people want. Relevant, expected messages to opted-in customers keep the rating high and the limit growing.

04 / 04

What should you avoid when sending bulk WhatsApp messages?

The most common mistakes.

  • Blasting a purchased or scraped list of numbers.
  • Sending marketing to customers who only agreed to order updates.
  • Sending the same promotion too often.
  • Messaging customers late at night in their time zone.
  • Ignoring replies: a broadcast that customers answer needs a team or a bot ready to respond.
